This Khukuri was originated in Nepal but later Indian Gurkha Army applied it. Before World War II, it is used to make in Dehradoone, in India. Hence it is also called Dehradoone. It is slightly bigger, heavier and more curved than standard sized Khukuri, Service no. 1. The blade of this Khukuri is made from graded carbon steel mostly used in railway tracks. The case is made of Buffalo hide. The measurement of this Khukuri is 17" along with 5" long handle and weights 700 grams. The handle of this Khukuri is made of aluminum, brass horn or wood. |
